The world always loves a comeback. Everyone—especially us Americans—admires recovery from failure or scandal sometimes even more than they admire initial success. Think Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer, Oliver North, Robert Downey Jr. and Dicky Eklund. Their names were all sullied—but today their names have largely regained their good repute. Like Dicky, they've all come back fighting. Even the Ford name is regaining ground with consumers and investors.
