Get your Q4 fulfillment ducks lined up
Ve Interactive Blog | September 6, 2011
We all know that finding better deals is one of the biggest attractions of shopping online, with consumers having a perception that purchasing online will save them up to 15 percent. Convenience is the other attraction and this is something that must be taken into serious consideration in the run up to Q4′s Christmas rush. Fulfillment is key to closing your customer satisfaction loop.
In a survey of 1000 UK consumers by Postcode Anywhere, 64 percent rated timed deliveries as important to their online shopping experience. Women slightly more so than men. And this highlights that the buying process is not completed after the online transaction has gone through. It actually ends when the customer receives their goods.
Another recent survey, this one carried out by the Co-operative Electrical and published in the Guardian, revealed that 90 percent of online shoppers were frustrated when a delivery time was not specified upon purchasing an item and most certainly that they were not happy about having to take time off work to wait for that delivery.
So as you get your Q4 ducks lined up and optimise your ecommerce site, don’t leave your fulfillment strategy in the lap of the gods.
