The connected economy
VeInteractive | August 30, 2012
Connectedness – a sense of being part of something that is larger than oneself. In technology terms it’s about seamless integration. As in the Internet of things, it could be your connected weight scales helping you track your fitness and nutrition goals. It could be smart luggage that can be tracked, or the transport system that is part of the network, or the shop that knows your worth: your phone giving the management an indication of your spending bracket.
Data is set to explode. And the Internet of things will certainly transform business and classrooms.
For our cart recovery clients, connectedness means integrating our VeCapture technology into their sites to realise the opportunity to engage with all their web traffic. It’s a people thing and it gives our online retailers the capacity to benefit both socially with that traffic, building brand awareness and loyalty, but potentially economically as well.
In other words our technology amplifies their ability to connect. And across borders too.
“I think this whole notion of connectedness is more a state of human evolution than rather a generational thing.” Ian Shafer, in Generation C: A new demographic label for marketers by Kai Ryssdal
