“We used to be a family business, now we’re a European enterprise!”

What exciting times. We are living in one big networked high street, with all sorts of opportunities and new markets emerging. A merchant no longer even needs retail real-estate, a brand can be purely virtual and if its got something unique and desirable on offer – well it can potentially transcend all borders too.

On top of this, social media has created the open source movement and audiences, so it’s now easy to join or build like-minded communities that share information and these communities are all potential ecommerce customers too.

There’s no denying that the opportunity of the single market opportunity is driving economic growth across Europe alone and as a result, this week has seen Ve people from our London and Stockholm offices attending major industry events in London, Paris and Utrecht, meeting with lots of exciting new clients and connecting with our super smart existing ones.

And if anyone is unsure whether online is where the money is,  in the States alone, ecommerce is continuing to increase about 17 percent year over year and will likely account for $200 billion in sales in the US in 2012 according to MasterCard Spending Pulse, New York.
