LinkedIn Company Pages – An Exciting New Design
Mimosa Creations | October 2, 2012
Linkedin is a professional social network that has over 175 million users who follow thousands of posted company pages. Unfortunately, very few of LinkedIn users were getting the opportunity to interact with the companies on LinkedIn because of the complex layout of the pages. This problem is what lead to the creation of a new design that has simplified company pages for all LinkedIn users.
Less Clutter and Easier Navigation
The new company page design cuts down on clutter and attempts to create a look that can be understood by individuals. It removes feeds that are not essential to users. Linkedin used an algorithm to help determine what information is most useful. Now users are presented with options that are more relevant to their likes and dislikes. This helps companies attract new followers and potential customers.
Non-essentials that Have Been Eliminated
Linkedin has completely removed the company blog section. Since this section was never relevant, companies are now given the option of highlighting posts from their blog and sharing it via their news feed. The business networking site has also removed the news section of the company because users can currently access news concerning the companies they follow through the social news product.
Products and Services Are More Noticeable
Previously, the services and products were contained in just one tab at top of the company page. There was no guarantee that users would even see everything the company had to offer. In response to user feedback, Linkedin has now added a more noticeable service and product module close to the top on the right.
Visual-Images Now Abound
One of the main objectives of the redesign was to create a more streamlined pages for individuals who visit. The new design puts images on the page instead of heavy text. Adding visual content helps companies become personal with users. It is also makes it easier for users to understand what the company is doing without having to read pages of information. The pages are more user-friendly, and it is simpler for users to access the pages.
Old Features That Have Remained
The messaging feature on company pages was always effective. With the new design, companies are still able to use their page to send messages to all the individuals following them or to compose messages that target specific users. In return, these companies obtain analytical data. The data states their precise followers and how they engage with their content. Communication is enhanced even more because these companies get feedback from their users.
The new LinkedIn Company pages have a more contemporary look and are simpler to navigate. A lot of clutter has been removed that will make it easier for companies to attract and keep new followers.
